Co-Founder and COO

Alex joined forces with Peter in 2016 as Harmony Energy diversified into battery energy storage. Alex’s role involves oversight over our fully integrated development, delivery and asset management teams across the business. Prior to Harmony, Alex co-founded WindCare, a leading Balance of Plant contractor operating in the onshore wind sector as well as Sancus utilities, a specialist engineering company designing and building hydroponic vertical farms.

Commercial Director UK / NZ

Pete is a former projects lawyer and has worked in a broad range of energy businesses including start-ups, hi-tech/high-growth companies and large corporates. He has extensive renewable energy project development experience and is currently based in New Zealand, where he is focused on developing a 500 MW+ pipeline of utility scale solar projects.

Board Director

James is an award-winning serial entrepreneur with a strong background in renewables. He has over 12 years’ experience as an executive in the energy sector and worked supplying some of the largest companies in the industry. He was formerly founder and CEO of Tekmar Group Plc and is currently Chairman of Energi Coast and CEO of Ritchie Bland Energy Ltd.

CIO

Paul has 15 years’ experience in the energy sector. In 2018, he co-founded REMAP with Max Slade, a specialist UK battery storage consultancy with a specific focus on revenue forecasting and financial modelling Paul spent 4 years at Long Harbour Ltd as co-Director of Energy Investment Team and he has advised on energy-from-waste projects with investment value of over £2bn whilst a Partner at Prime Numbers Infrastructure Finance.

General Counsel

Max has 7 years’ experience in the energy sector, three of which were spent at REMAP advising investors & developers on commercial aspects of UK battery storage sector. Max spent 4 years alongside Paul at Long Harbour Ltd as co-Director of Energy Investment Team and years at Strand Partners, a boutique investment bank focussed on Energy and Infrastructure. Max also spent 2 years as Fund Manager for a UK Private Family Office and is a qualified as a UK corporate lawyer.

Director of International Development

Miguel joined Harmony Energy in September 2023, driving the company's global expansion. With over 15 years in the renewable sector, he's a specialist in Energy Storage Business. Miguel has shaped and executed new business models for the technology, originating profitable opportunities across key markets such as the UK, Europe, Mexico, Chile, and South Africa. His track record includes leadership roles at major IPPs such as FRV, Canadian Solar, and Norsk Solar. Currently based in Madrid, Spain, Miguel brings a wealth of experience to Harmony Energy, steering its growth with practical expertise and a global perspective.

Technical Director

Prior to joining Harmony Gary was a Commercial Engineer with Northern Powergrid where he worked with developers on new connections throughout Yorkshire and the North East England. He is an electrical engineer having spent his early career specialising in military avionic systems in locations around the world, before moving into the energy sector.

Head of Finance

Rob is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of experience. He has worked in a variety of finance roles, including at listed food production and aquaculture biotechnology businesses.

Development Director

Frances is a qualified Chartered Surveyor with 9 years’ experience in developing and gaining consents for large scale renewable energy infrastructure projects. Prior to joining Harmony, Frances worked at EDF Renewables UK where she supported them to develop their first green hydrogen plant and led on a pipeline of utility scale solar at varying stages of the development cycle exceeding 1000MWs.

Engineering Director

Ked has 10 years’ experience in the renewable energy sector, working on offshore and onshore wind, solar and energy storage projects. From a consultancy background, his experience includes due diligence for project financing and Owner’s Engineering. Prior to joining Harmony, Ked was Head of Owner’s Engineering for RINA, where he built a team of 12 delivering detailed engineering services for developers of renewable and battery storage projects. His experience includes Harmony’s Contego project, where he acted as Project Director for RINA’s comprehensive Owner’s Engineering scope.

Senior Financial Modeller

Arsh has over 10 years of experience in Corporate Finance and Financial Modelling in both mature and emerging markets with a considerable portion of it being in the energy sector. Arsh holds a degree in engineering, a MBA in finance and has cleared CFA level II and FRM level I. Area of focus has been around structuring projects so that affordability, bankability, and the levels of risk are carefully balanced to achieve optimal value for money. Working across Africa, India, Japan, Middle East, UK and south-east Asia, Arsh has been involved in various renewable energy projects including competitive bids for solarising telecom sites, commissioning solar PV plants and such. Prior to joining Harmony, Arsh was employed by firms like Deloitte, Steer, KPMG, OMC Power and Mazars LLP.

Head of Property

Catherine has over 15 years’ experience as a property lawyer including 6 years’ experience in the energy sector working both with landowners and developers and 3 years’ experience working in-house, including roles in asset management and financial services.

Head of Sustainability

Lucie is a sustainability specialist with almost a decade of experience in sustainability strategy development, implementation and reporting at large private and FTSE listed companies. Prior to joining Harmony, Lucie worked in sustainability consulting with Deloitte and most recently in industry with OVO Energy.

Company Secretary and Head of Governance

Alberto is a UK-qualified Company Secretary with significant international experience. He has covered a number of roles in different organisations, ranging from FTSE100 companies to start-ups. Alberto has experience in managing complex international governance arrangements, both in regulated and non-regulated markets, and has a strong understanding of both civil and common law systems. In addition to English and his native Italian, Alberto is fluent in Spanish and has passed his Dalf C1 exam (Advanced French).

Head of Marketing and Communications

Jack has over 10 years of marketing and communications experience having managed and delivered projects across various industries including Higher Education, sports and renewable energy. In 2019 he delivered Leeds Law School’s best-ever application rates, and at UK Coaching he managed Born2Coach; a nationwide incentive to encourage and inspire diversity and opportunity in sports. He has worked with numerous broadcasters including the BBC, Sky, Mirror and Daily Mail. Jack has a BA (Hons) in Journalism, a CIM and Masters degree from the University of Leeds.

Legal Counsel

Rachael is an Australian and New Zealand-qualified lawyer with extensive international experience advising on the lifecycle of large-scale infrastructure and renewable energy projects. Before joining Harmony, Rachael worked in-house at Low Carbon and at international law firms, including King & Wood Mallesons in Australia and MinterEllison in New Zealand. She has advised government institutions, project companies, developers, and financial sponsors on a variety of complex projects.

Paralegal

Emelie has joined the legal team as a paralegal, assisting on legal matters and the coordination of the annual report. Before joining the renewable energy industry, she graduated with a Law with Criminology degree and has worked in both private practice and in-house legal teams.

HR and Office Manager

Catherine has spent over 20 years in event management, starting her career as a legal secretary and cashier. She is an experienced administrator responsible for managing the office on a day to day basis.

Development Manager

Hannah is a qualified chartered Town Planner with over 7 years’ experience in the planning sector. Prior to joining Harmony Hannah worked at a private planning consultancy helping to deliver planning consents on a range of projects from large scale residential developments to smaller tourism schemes.

Planning Manager

Tessa is a qualified chartered Town Planner with 2 years of experience in the public sector and over 12 years of experience in the private sector. Prior to joining Harmony, Tessa worked at a planning consultancy helping to prepare, manage and deliver planning consents on a range of residential, commercial and environmental projects.

Design and Technical Co-ordinator

Sean works within the development team to support in the creation of technical drawings and pre-construction information packs whilst commissioning technical work and surveys. Sean has a BA (Hons) degree in Graphic Arts from York St John and comes in with years of CAD experience within the energy sector.

Property Manager

Tim is a Chartered Surveyor with over 36 years’ experience in the Electricity Supply Industry, with extensive knowledge of working for and alongside DNOs and renewable energy companies to obtain wayleave and property related consents. Tim is a farmer’s son and has utility construction and overhead line experience. Prior to joining Harmony, Tim was Property Consultancy Manager for Babcock International Group and Dalcour Maclaren where he delivered large infrastructure projects, BESS facilities and both onshore and offshore windfarm projects.

Senior Data Scientist

Akbar is a Data Scientist with experience across data engineering, analytics, modelling, software, and full stack development. He has previously worked at EY for 5 years across the FS Mobility Advisory and Assurance Innovation workstreams.

Asset Manager

Emily joined the asset management team in 2023 and is responsible for the commercial and technical aspects of the operational assets. Before entering the renewable energy sector, she spent 3 years at a fintech start-up and graduated in 2022 with a degree in Mathematics, Statistics and Economics.

Graduate Project Manager

Sean joined Harmony as a Graduate Project Manager and will work between the asset management and ESG teams. Before joining, Sean worked as a researcher investigating the impact of bi-directional EV chargers on flexible energy systems. He has also completed an internship with a Dublin-based renewable developer as part of his master’s degree in Energy Systems.

Grid Connections Engineer

Alastair is an electrical engineer and previously worked in the Royal Air Force focusing on electrical design for tactical exercises within the UK and abroad. Upon finishing his BEng, he has transitioned into the energy sector. Alastair joined Harmony Energy's team to provide technical support to the project and asset management teams in areas such as design review, optioneering, grid connection process management, review of G99 studies and technical tender evaluation.

Finance Manager

Verity is a qualified Chartered Accountant. Prior to joining Harmony Verity trained at Mazars, working with both the Corporate tax compliance and advisory teams.

Assistant Finance Manager

Phoebe is an exam qualified Chartered Accountant and trained with PwC where she previously worked in Audit and Assurance. She has a BSc degree in International Business, Finance and Economics from the University of Manchester.

Management Accountant

Poppy is an ACCA part-qualified Accountant with a BSc (Hons) and a Master's degree in Accounting and Finance. With a robust career starting in accounts clerk roles and advancing through financial management and budgeting, Poppy has garnered extensive experience across various accounting and finance positions. Poppy has joined the team as a Management Accountant, where she is responsible for preparing monthly management information, assisting in tax reconciliation and statutory account preparation, and offering ad hoc support. Looking ahead, she aims to complete her ACCA qualification and further enhance her expertise in financial strategy and management.

Junior Management Accountant

Sarah has spent 8 years in education, as a primary school teacher and Senco. She is now working in Harmony’s finance team and embarking on studying for her AAT qualifications.

Assistant Management Accountant

Following the completion of her History Degree at Leeds University, Catherine spent the first half of her working life working within Finance, including managing an Accounts Payable and Credit Control Team. Alongside this, she worked towards her ACCA Qualification before taking 15 years out to concentrate on her family. Following this career break, she returned to Finance in assistant management accountant roles, leading her to Harmony Energy.

Accounts Assistant

Chris has many years of experience in finance roles in industries as varied as hotels, military clothing and equipment supplies and the commercial gas sector.

Administration Assistant

Luan has years of experience across various industries including events, customer service and marketing. Luan has joined the team to support the day-to-day running of the office whilst also supporting the marketing and PR of the company. Luan also has a BA (Hons) degree in International Tourism Management from Leeds Beckett University.

CEO Harmony Energy France

Andy has been working in the renewable energy industry since 2005. He has experience in hydro, wind, solar and storage, having worked in New Zealand, the UK and for the last 11 years in France. Qualified in engineering, Andy’s background first had a technical focus, before more recently specialising in contracts and purchasing for renewable energy projects. Over recent years Andy headed up solar pv and battery procurement activities for RES France. In 2022, Andy and Clément founded the French branch of Harmony Energy to develop Harmony’s activities in France.

COO

Clément has over ten years’ experience in the electricity market. Qualified in engineering and energy, he has since worked in various commercial and consulting roles specialising in smart grid applications, before more recently heading up the development activities for large scale battery energy storage projects at the major renewable energy developer RES France. In 2022, Clément and Andy founded the French branch of Harmony Energy to develop Harmony’s activities in France.

Responsable Ingénierie

Cyril is a qualified electrical engineer who has specialised in battery energy storage and photovoltaic systems. He heads up the activities for grid connections, electrical studies and project design and optimisation for Harmony’s operations in France.

Développeur Projets Agrivoltaïques

Matthieu has over 12 years’ experience in various markets, including energy and agricultural sectors. Qualified in business administration and economics, he has been supervising his family-based farming company for the last five years. Matthieu joined Harmony Energy in 2023 to develop the agriPV operations in France.

Responsable Développement Projets

Olivier is an experienced business development manager with 7 years of experience acquired in the Australian renewable energy sector (including 3.5 years at Tesla). Olivier joined Harmony Energy in 2023 and will be leading the development of energy storage projects from start to finish including site selection, stakeholder engagement, permitting and contributing to subsequent financing, commercialisation and implementation phases.

Responsable Réalisation de Projets

Sylvain joined Harmony Energy in January 2024. He has 13 years of experience in electrical engineering and renewables, including 8 years working in the sector of innovation for energy systems and products, with a focus on power conversion, storage technologies, and renewable integration with power system stability challenges (CEA France, Schneider Electric). In 2017, Sylvain joined the Spanish developer FRV, providing technical expertise and developing their energy storage business in Australia and the UK, including working on some of Harmony Energy’s first BESS projects in the UK as a JV partner. More recently, Sylvain has been working as construction project manager in for solar PV farms, and as an O&M services sales engineer.

Ingénieur en Énergies Renouvelables

Christophe started his career working in industrial maintenance, over 20 years ago. By conviction and attraction for energy production systems, he quickly specialised in the sector of renewable energy. Christophe has occupied a number of different positions in engineering and construction, principally focusing on the development and the operational delivery of wind turbine and photovoltaic farms. Christophe joined Harmony Energy France in April 2024 to support the teams working on a growing pipe of both photovoltaic and agrivoltaic projects as well as battery energy storage systems.

Assistante de Direction

Curiosity and a desire to learn led Stéphanie to embark on diverse professional experiences. With a Master’s Degree in Marketing and Communication, Stéphanie worked for 10 years in a  French tea sales company in Paris. Later, she established and managed a home decor business in the South of France for 12 years. Eager to contribute to renewable energy development in France within a dynamic team, Stéphanie assists Andy Symonds in handling administrative tasks, HR, accounting, communication, marketing and corporate social responsibility.

Responsable Juridique

Anaïs joined Harmony Energy France in 2024 to provide legal counsel on compliance, commercial and corporate matters. Before joining the renewable energy sector, Anaïs worked in Canada as a qualified business lawyer in a top-tier Canadian law firm and subsequently in a technology boutique law firm, with a practice focused on technology contracting and compliance. Conscious of the major challenges related to carbon emissions and animal welfare, she launched an entrepreneurial venture focused on providing high end plant-based pastry consulting to bakeries, hotels and restaurants around the world.

Chef de Projet Photovoltaïque

Arnaud comes from the field of urban planning and territorial development, with experience in advising local authorities and elected officials on their planning policies. Today, Arnaud leverages his knowledge of administrations and territories, as well as his five years of experience in solar and wind energy, to prospect and develop new solar projects within Harmony Energy France.

Ingénieur Énergie et Environnement

As part of an internship in Sweden, Mathilde worked on the development of a new thermal solar panel. Currently in her final year of engineering studies, specialising in Energy and Environment, Mathilde joined Harmony Energy to put her theoretical training into practice working on tangible and environmentally beneficial projects.

Managing Director

Garth joined Harmony Energy in September 2022 following eight years at MUFG Bank, a global Japanese bank at which he led a team responsible for a $1.5bn debt book covering a portfolio of clients in the resource, utilities, infrastructure and transport sectors. In that role he was involved in several large transactions in the NZ market, across debt capital markets, project finance, leverage finance and M&A.

General Counsel

Jonathan is an experienced General Counsel who operates at an executive level. Prior to joining Harmony Energy, he was General Counsel at Kiwi Rail. He has extensive infrastructure expertise in rail and construction. Jonathan has a background in corporate and commercial law and has worked as a senior solicitor at premier law firms in London and Auckland.

Technical Director

With 16 years of consulting experience in the electrical power systems industry, Sarel has worked on numerous projects related to power system network studies, substation, powerline and cable feeder designs. He has managed major turnkey projects throughout South Africa and New Zealand from initiation to final handover, overseeing design and project management components.

Project Director

Christiaan is a project management professional with a broad range of experience in complex environments. His areas of expertise include solar, wind, gas turbines, heat capture technologies and transmission systems. He has delivered energy projects in New Zealand, the Emirates, Oman, Turkey, South Africa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Swaziland. He also has extensive O&M experience including the implementation of remote inspection technology.

Executive Director

Dariusz has been working in the renewable energy industry since 2000. He gained experience in biomass, wind and solar PV, having worked in Poland, Balkans and the GCC (Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and Oman). Is an institutional member of EU-GCC Clean Energy Technology Network sharing EU experience in energy efficiency and renewable energy sources with GCC countries. Prior to that, Dariusz held managing positions in various project development and contracting in Poland, among others in TOPO Wind Energyia SA (development of utility-scale windfarms). In 2023 Dariusz and Michal co-founded Harmony Energy Poland to develop Harmony’s activities in Poland.

Executive Director of Harmony Energy Poland

It’s an exciting opportunity where we can make a huge positive impact on Poland which will enable the transition of the whole economy towards renewables. We want to build Harmony Energy Poland quickly and efficiently due to the extensive knowledge from the British market, but we are bringing much needed financing and operational experience which will allow the Polish grid to be supported by our battery energy storage systems.”

Executive Director

Piotr has over 15 years of energy business experience having managed and delivered projects across various sectors including power generation, distribution of electricity, renewable energy, district heating, emissions trading and energy storage. Within the PGE Group (Poland’s largest utility) he served as a department director and executive team member responsible for both the sale and distribution of electricity and the capacity market. Also, he successfully coordinated the process of raising financing for ESS and renewable energy sources. Piotr has also worked as CEO at Hynfra Energy Storage, Poland, as Executive Regulatory and External Relations Affairs at Électricité de France Poland and as a lawyer at Dentons Law Office.

Project Manager

Mateusz has a strong background with new technologies, batteries and electricity. Over the last few years, he has been involved in developing software for the automotive sector, developing a start-up dealing with electric vehicles and charging stations and as a Project Manager at a battery design and manufacturing company. He is a graduate of electrical engineering at the Warsaw University of Technology.

Project Engineer

Ziemowit is a power electronics engineer currently completing his master's degree. He has several years of experience in the electric power and renewable energy sectors. At Harmony Energy, he contributes to the creation of conceptual technical drawings for designed Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) and oversees the technical aspects of ongoing projects.

Financial Controller

Małgorzata has over 20 years of experience working in finance. She joins the HEP team as Financial Controller. Małgorzata loves spending her free time in nature and values environmental protection, and is excited about the opportunity to work in a place that contributes to seeking new solutions to combat the energy and climate crisis.

Administrative Assistant

Barbara brings extensive experience in communication and public relations. Throughout her career in NGO, she has delivered several projects in the fields of climate, energy and social policy, including Łódź Citizents’ Assembly “Greenery in the City” (2020) and Krakow Climate Assembly (2021). Barbara joined HEP to support daily operations of the Polish branch and enhance communication activities. In her free time, she is an enthusiast of Smart Cities concepts and independent European cinema.

Executive Director of Harmony Energy Germany

Stefan has been working in renewable energy since 2010 and was one of the early members of Tesla’s battery storage business in Europe. Before establishing BayWa r.e.‘s battery storage and hydrogen business in UK, Stefan worked as Strategy Manager at BayWa r.e’s headquarters in Munich. He also realized MW scale PV/battery microgrids in remote regions at SMA Solar Technology. Stefan studied Industrial Engineering in Germany and Chile with a specific emphasis on environmental aspects.

Executive Director

After having worked for more than 10 years in landscape architecture and urban planning in Germany, the United States and Singapore, Tobias moved into the renewable energy industry in 2010. He has been responsible for the development and implementation of several utility-scale solar parks partly with co-located BESS, spearheaded the UK market entry for BayWa r.e’s solar projects business and built the presence of BayWa r.e. in Africa. Tobias has studied landscape architecture and urban planning at TU Dresden.

Technical Director

Juergen has over 20 years of experience in the electrical energy sector, with a distinguished history of managing and delivering complex projects in the utility and renewable power industries across Europe, Africa, South America, and Australia. He has been instrumental in establishing grid connection departments for leading organisations. At Belectric, one of the world's top solar EPCs, Juergen played a key role in setting up subsidiaries in Germany and the UK, solidifying the company's presence in these critical markets. Before joining Belectric, Juergen worked for Siemens AG in the Oil and Gas sector, where he contributed significantly to the commissioning of the world’s largest gas turbine power plant, showcasing his technical expertise and project management capabilities. He also brought his extensive experience to STEAG Solar Energy Solutions GmbH, where he successfully established and developed the grid connection and electrical engineering departments. Juergen holds a degree in Electrical Engineering and Power Electronics from the Technical University of Applied Sciences Würzburg-Schweinfurt in Germany, with international experience gained through a semester in South Africa. Currently, he is further expanding his leadership and strategic management skills by pursuing an Executive MBA in General Management at the prestigious University of St. Gallen. Juergen’s comprehensive technical knowledge, combined with his strategic acumen, makes him a leader in the field of electrical engineering and grid connection.

Project Developer

After graduating from high school, Simon studied Geography at the University of Innsbruck. There, he focused particularly on Human and Physical Geography as well as Geographical Information Systems. In June 2023, Simon began working as a working student at Harmony Energy in Munich. Upon completing his studies in December 2023, Simon started working full-time as a project developer at Harmony Energy.
