Harmony Energy (HEL) and Harmony Energy Income Trust (HEIT) are delighted to announce that they have both been shortlisted for the Energy Storage Awards, with HEL shortlisted for Developer of the Year and HEIT shortlisted for Grid-scale Standalone Energy Storage Project of the Year for its Pillswood site – Europe’s largest battery energy storage system (BESS) by MWh.

The Energy Storage Awards aim to reward excellence and hard work in the European industry, identifying the pioneering spirit and dedication to positive change it represents.

The Developer of the Year category recognises Harmony Energy as a leader in the development of utility-scale battery energy storage systems over the past year, with focus on the BESS projects developed, and the successes and innovative approaches to challenges.

The Grid-scale Standalone Energy Storage Project of the Year Award recognises a standalone energy storage system (ESS) project of over 1MW/1MWh which stands out in a sea of high-quality projects across Europe. HEIT was shortlisted due to the construction and commencement of operations of the Pillswood battery energy storage system (BESS), Europe’s largest BESS by energy capacity  (98 MW / 196 MWh).

Harmony Energy CEO, Peter Kavanagh, said: “We’re delighted that both HEL and HEIT have been shortlisted for the Energy Storage Awards.

“The awards will be a great opportunity to showcase the important work taking place across the industry, and it’s great to be part of this day to recognise all of our team’s incredible efforts.”

The awards take place in London on 28 September. You can find out more about the Energy Storage Awards here.
