Celebrating its fifth year, the Harmony Energy Run Harrogate 10k saw over 800 runners complete the 10k course and Kids Fun Run on Sunday, 2 July.

Set in the beautiful Crimple Valley, participants embraced the multi-terrain route, with the men’s winner finishing in 34 minutes and the female’s winner finishing in 37 minutes.

Participants and crowd members were treated to Yorkshire royalty, with British triathlete star and Olympic gold medallist Jonny Brownlee in attendance. Jonny presented prizes to the top 3 in each category.

A firm believer in the importance of sport and physical activity, co-founder of the Brownlee Foundation, Jonny said: “It’s absolutely brilliant. I’m a big fan of getting people active and seeing people here on a Sunday morning in Harrogate, running a 10k for all different reasons and causes, it’s absolutely amazing.

“It’s a great event and it’s great to be here!”

In addition to the 10k, children participated and enjoyed the Kids Fun Run.

Event organisers – local running club Harrogate Harriers – were delighted with the day and thanked the many volunteers and sponsors who helped deliver the event.

Sue Moul, Race Director and Harrogate Harriers club member said: “A lot goes into making today special, and none of it would be possible without all our amazing volunteers and sponsors.

“It’s our favourite day of the year and every participant should be proud of their performance.”

Harmony Energy was proud to sponsor the event. Peter Kavanagh, CEO of Harmony Energy, said: “It was a joy being back to support such a brilliant local event.

“We’ve seen people of all ages complete a tremendous goal today, and they all deserve to celebrate their achievements.”
