Harmony Energy has announced the successful sale of its 100MW Marronniers BESS project to leading Swiss energy services provider, Alpiq. This important transaction underscores Harmony Energy’s strategic focus on expanding its footprint within the French energy market by leveraging proceeds to reinforce its platform for future BESS and solar developments and operations.

Andy Symonds, CEO of Harmony Energy France, said: “We have big aims for France and this transaction puts the company in a strong position to deliver our ambition to develop, build, own and operate a large portfolio in France, including our flagship BESS in Nantes, which is currently under construction. The acquisition by Alpiq also demonstrates the growing interest in high-quality battery storage projects as a critical pillar in the energy transition.”

“The success of this operation will provide us with the resources and momentum needed to advance future projects and further expand our development portfolio, ensuring our ability to deliver projects at the forefront of the French energy transition.”

The acquisition by Alpiq is another example highlighting the increasing demand for efficient energy storage solutions right across Europe, providing the flexibility required across the networks to facilitate the large-scale integration of renewable energies.
